About Qu
ヒューマンビートボックスをフロントに据えたインストロック。ヒップホップのエレガンスを強靭なロックへと再構築したビートに、グランジ直系のギターと多弦ベースが圧を加え、ボイスワークが縦横無尽に飛び交う重厚かつ立体的なサウンド。ヒップホップ、エレクトロニカ、アンビエント、ハードコア、ヘヴィロック、エモ…様々な要素が想像を超えた次元でミックスされた音楽＝「Qu」を聞き逃してはならない！
Qu (pronounced "cue") is a Japanese instrumental rock band fronted by a human beat box. Formed in 2012 in Kobe, Japan, Qu performs more than 50 shows a year, including tours abroad. Their first full-length album is slated for release in Japan on January 7th, 2015. They combine elements of hip hop, electronica, ambient, heavy rock, and emo to create a truly unique sound.
Biography
- 2012年 結成。大阪、東京を中心にライブ活動を開始。
- 2014年 初の台湾ツアーを決行。
- 2015年 1月、kilk recordsより1st album Switchをリリース。
- 同年 春には、Mew、Cloud Nothings、envy等が出演した台湾の大型ロックフェスティバル T-Fest、Spring scream2015に出演。
- 8月、シンガポールLithe RecordsよりSplit EPリリースに伴い シンガポール、マレーシアツアーを決行。
- 2016年 3月、1st EP ”Laundry”リリースに伴い、日本、台湾、香港、中国、シンガポール、マレーシアツアーを決行。
- 2017年、台湾 wake up festival、シンガポール Baybeats festival、中国珠海 Mumaland Music Festivalに出演。
- 同年9月、2nd album ”Finalize”リリース。それに伴い、日本、シンガポール、マレーシア、韓国、台湾、中国ツアーを決行。
- 今後も活動の範囲を拡大予定。
